Lute

Andreas became first interested in the lute as a  chamber-music instrument. Thus he enjoys playing in all kind of combinations the parts for the theorbo or the lute. Early music from the late 15th to the late 18th century is here his goal.

Duos with Veronika Skuplik (baroque-violin) and Nils Mönkemeyer (viola) have been a steady companion, also the orchestral work with Freiburger Barock Orchester. Many other experiences are likewise indispensible for his musicianship.

Crossover-projects, or influences of contemporary forms of music are part of his work, too.

Andreas performs solo recitals on the lute and theorbo. For these, he creates various programs, for example around Bach, Kapsberger, de Visée, or Francesco da Milano.

Since 2016 he explores the repertoire of german (and related) lute music from the 16th century. This interest is especially focussed on the intabulations of Sebastian Ochsenkun, Melchior Newsidler and Valentin Bakfark.
